I do not like to talk in the morning. If possible I say nothing until I get to work. Ok, considering the son and the daughter...mostly I HAVE TO say at least a few words. Maybe I should sign...?
I get to work. I talk all day long. Ahhh.
The fertility of silence. When is the first time you talk after waking in the morning?
Let's go eat stuff.

Pretty much first thing, to my mom or if I call someone...or if someone is in my bed...first thing. Yep.
I'm a morning person. Its the evening I'd rather have be quiet...silence as the day closes...yes.
Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
violet915 replies on 11/4/2009 5:54 pm: Yes. Silence as the day closes. This is good. |

I think I say something to Simon and Maddie cat before I get out of bed most mornings. They're both there with me and they tend to come toward my head to greet me as soon as they realize I'm awake. Or, more likely, in the case of Maddie, she starts biting me if I don't pet her first. So, I have something to say to her about that.

"You stupid son of a *&*$&%*& god #$%^&* mother _)(*#$%^& f***er... "
I try not to make it too personal.
It just creates another argument.
With myself.

I start off with a prayer: either "God grant me the serenity...." or "May I be happy; may I be peaceful; may I be filled with lovingkindness." Except for the days when I wake up and say, "Oh shit."
violet915 replies on 11/4/2009 5:50 pm: mmmm. starting with the serenity prayer is a really really good idea. And the loving kindness. And the OH shit! hahahahha |

I had to think about it but in less Im late and saying "crap crap crap where's my keys?" over and over as I turn over the living room. I dont talk til I get to work over an hour after I wake and then its just a neanderthalish grunt at my fellow gardeners til we all have absorbed some coffee.
violet915 replies on 11/4/2009 7:10 pm: At Kripalu they have silent breakfast. It's pretty cool. |

I am like you. I do not like to talk until at least 11am and my second cup of coffee.

I don't like to talk in the morning. I say something to my cats, as little as I can - like, wait, I am going to give you food right now - and then I am quiet, as long as the phone doesn't ring. And if I have to talk, I usually warn the other party that I need more coffee

"The fertility of silence".
I love it!
Hey, by all means, learn Sign Language! It is fun, and why not learning it with your kids! For them, it's a "secret" language they can use that no one around can decipher ! Just sayin' !
Well, I talk to my cats when they wake up in the morning. I've no choice! Otherwise, my first real talk with humans would be much later in the day, when I arrive at the workplace.
I've an odd relationship with *spoken* words. They're tough on me. For the same reason I hate phone calls, they exhaust me! I rather like the world of silence. It's harmony, it's serenity, and not having the stress to miss important words from a conversation is such a relief!
Fertile world, I'd agree. Fertile by not being constantly disturbed by spoken words!
Hehehe...
Cheers!
